The Great Date Experience is proving to have some great stories.. If you haven’t picked up your Great Date Experience yet, the be sure to download yours quickly. Your spouse will thank you for it!
I’m not a “collar & tie” kinda guy! So when I donned a suit for a breakfast date with my wife, right after an early morning meeting with some mates, I took a lot of flak!!. They wanted to know whether I had a job interview or a meeting with the pastor?? I know how my wife digs it when I dress up smart………!
I had arranged to meet my wife at a surprise location after she had finished at the gym. I phoned her and told her to meet me at the Vineyard Hotel in Claremont for breakfast. I arrived there early and made sure we had a great table. She arrived all flushed with excitement. Although a spontaneous romantic at heart, I realise I have suppressed this side of my nature in our relationship, with all the “busyness of life”.
We had a scrumptious breakfast & a great time together and when they booted us out the restaurant at 10h30, we moved to the outside patio and feasted some more on the fabulous mountainside vista, basking in the sun on a spectacularly warm winters day.
We were sad when the time came to go. Next time I will also book a room upstairs…….!
PS. One of the most important things to come out of the MarriedLife Live Series for us, was “praying together as a couple.” This was not something that we had really practiced regularly before. Now we do it every day, and it has brought us even closer together as a couple. It also seems to automatically reunify our thoughts, hopes & dreams, as a couple, so that we are on the same page.
Like a built in relationship compass re-focuser! I sense that God is pleased!
