Leadership Development Program
Welcome to the Southpoint Church Leadership Development Program, known as the LDP for short. The LDP is a leadership journey for 20-somethings looking to leverage their lives to impact Cape Town and grow as leaders. The LDP combines hands-on experience in a key area of ministry at Southpoint Church with practical leadership training and valuable life experiences. Each member of the LDP has the opportunity to lead in a specific area of ministry and grow through the training and mentorship of the Southpoint Staff. LDPs are given the opportunity to make a huge difference in the ministries at Southpoint Church while learning practical leadership skills along the way.
LDP | Who is it for?
The LDP is designed for 20-something young leaders who desire to grow and be challenged in a work environment. The LDP is NOT only for men and woman who want to “go into ministry,” it is open to anyone looking for a leadership challenge. We are looking for and expecting the best of the best. We want to hire sharp, fun, caring, responsible individuals who have ambition and take initiative. Who have served in one the environments at SPC for at least a year, with an endorsement from a Ministry Team Leader.
LDP | The Commitment
The LDP is a 12-month commitment beginning middle of January and ending on the 31st of December each year. Each LDP Staff is expected to spend roughly 20 hours/week working in a specific area of ministry (including Sunday mornings) and participating in the LDP leadership training course activities.
LDP | Details
We believe that leaders need to be equipped for ministry. We will cover all the costs of the LDP, including leadership books, CD resources, and experiential outings. Each LDP staff will receive a monthly monetary stipend. At some point during the LDP’s years they will get the opportunity of traveling to the USA to visit our partner churches in Georgia, if funds are available.
