At Southpoint Church membership involves more than simply having your name on a list. Membership at Southpoint Church is synonymous with Involvement.
Specifically, as a member of Southpoint Church you will be called upon to help create, lead, and resource our various ministry environments. Strategic Service and Authentic Community are two of our Core Values. Therefore, we ask that all members be involved in a small group environment and/or serving on a strategic service team.
At Southpoint Church, we encourage membership for any attendee who desires to formally and publicly align with the mission, values and beliefs of Southpoint Church. This is encouraged for accountability. Though most people can participate in any activity around here, there are certain leadership responsibilities that are reserved for those who have made themselves accountable to the church through membership.
As part of the membership process, applicants are requred to sign the following statement:
As a member of Southpoint Church, I agree to support this ministry with my time, talents, and treasure, and to be accountable to the church leadership in matters concerning my relationship to God and others.
When someone joins Southpoint Church, he or she is in effect saying “You can trust me to influence those under my care in accordance with who we are and what we believe as a church.”
As a leader, God has gifted you to serve Him in the local church. By accepting a leadership role, your responsibility requires accountability. Your accountability to Southpoint Church enables us to trust you with greater responsibility, which leads to broader influence. By formally aligning yourself with Southpoint Church through membership, you set yourself up for maximum impact.
