FUN was had by all!!!

Thank you to ALL the organizers of the Western Volunteer Appreciation evening!!! It was a blast, as the photo’s will show.

Everyone got in with the spirit of the evening, dressing up to compliment the décor.

Each year one area of help is highlighted, this year it was the Road Crew that were honoured. They all received awesome T-Shirts to help them stand out and be noticed. Well done guys on all the work that you do early on Sunday mornings while most of us still sleep.

Two other couples were also honoured for there commitment and enthusiasm first were Gary and Robyn Coleman, who from the start of the church moving to Old Mutual have been there every Sunday morning, helping iron out all the kinks to get it into the smooth running machine it is now. Special mention went to their kids, who would tag along in the early hours of the morning, who were made honorary Road Crew members.

Another couple, Morgan and Kelly, were especially thanked as they were a crucial element in the design and creation of InsideOut, our teen environment at The Attic (old church building).

Unfortunately, not everyone can be singled out, but everyone is appreciated for all you do.

Thank you for all your dedication and help throughout the year.

Easter Sunday Service

Luke 23 vs 50 to Luke 24 vs 12 and Acts 2 vs 22 to Acts 2 vs 41
This morning John spoke about how the Resurrection of Jesus Christ changed everything.

Initially everybody thought that is was all over when Jesus finally died on the cross; no one waiting in expectation of the impending Resurrection and no one spoke about it. Then the women found the tomb empty. It was not like they were expecting anything either, they were going to use some burial spices that they had prepared (Luke 24 vs 1).

It was only later, when the news was brought to Peter that he finally broke out of his shell and announced what had happened; leading 3000 to accept his message and be baptized (Acts 2 vs 38) .

When Jesus rose from the dead everything changed.

It is an incredibly important time; not only this weekend but the whole week. So apart from looking forward to the public holidays and Easter eggs we as Christians need to remember what this time is about – the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; the suffering that he went true, taking on the punishment due to us onto himself so that we may be reconciled to God. This weekend is a great opportunity to invite family, friends, neighbours and/or colleagues to church that they may hear the life saving message of God and find his grace. Because that is what we are about – leading people in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, what better way to start that in someone’s life than by inviting them to this Sunday’s service.
