Because of the nature of this volunteer position, there are certain lifestyle decisions that we ask that our InsideOut Small Group leaders do not take part in. Signing below indicates to the InsideOut Team that you do not participate in the following activities.

a. Excessive alcohol consumption. Ephesians 5 says “And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.” We believe excess alcohol consumption sets an example for our youth of a lack of self-control, leading to poorly made decisions. We ask that our InsideOut group leaders consume alcohol, should they choose to do so, in moderation.

b. Homosexual activity. While we welcome people to Southpoint who live a homosexual lifestyle, we ask that they abstain from leadership positions. In Romans 1:26, Paul mentions homosexual activity as a “dishonorable passion,” categorizing it in the area of sexual immorality. We ask that our InsideOut leaders are not currently engaged in any sort of homosexual activity and are in unity with our beliefs that it is an immoral lifestyle practice.

c. Pre-marital sex and extramarital affairs. Paul says in Ephesians 5 that “sexual immorality and all impurity must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints.” We believe that sex is reserved for a marriage. We ask that InsideOut small group leaders not engage in any sexual activity other than with their spouse.
